What is Spin?
Indoor cycling is a group exercise program that uses a specially designed stationary bike and a series of cycling movements that provides you with a physical and mental workout.
The indoor cycling bike, designed to mimic an outdoor cycle ride, has an adjustable bike seat, fixed gear-racing handlebars, and pedals equipped with both shoe clips and cages. You can change the workout intensity by adjusting a resistance knob on the bike. During each class, upbeat music and an enthusiastic instructor will challenge and motivate you to work hard. Your journey will be exciting and fun, taking you through hills, flats, over mountain peaks, time trials and interval training.

On Wednesday 17 June 2009 we ran our first Spin Endurance class. Since then we have run a total of 7 endurance classes. Our last endurance class was held on Thursday 27 August 2009. This class was our Pre Spring endurance class. Our participants were asked to come dressed in Yellow to represent the start of spring. We gave out spot prizes and took photos of those in the class.
You can see the fun they had in the photos below.
All our endurance classes were booked to capacity. The success of these classes was due to the fantastic support from you our valued participant. On behalf of our group fitness spin and management teams I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of these classes as well as our regular spin classes.
Our spin endurance classes run for 90 minutes. Two instructors take you on a journey, up hills, over mountains, flat road bunch rides and sprints at the Veladrome. These are some of the rides you can expect to experience in all our spin classes.
Spin classes are low impact and are great for fat burning, strength conditioning and cardiovascular workout. Spin is something everyone can participate in. The instructors will teach you correct bike set up and technical points during your ride. We have a booking system so you can book your bike in advance.
